2009 Trip
From the City of Hope website:
"The City of Hope's aim and mission, is to redeem and save young people who have been forgotten by life through unfortunate circumstances. Their dreams have been squashed and broken as AIDS, chronic poverty, illiteracy, and lack of education take their toll. This project is about bringing hope to communities and to nations while changing lives for the better.
This concept was conceived in the heart of Dr. John N. Chacha. The first City of Hope is being built through a partnership with community leaders in western Tanzania. Phase One of this first project is 75% completed. Many partners and friends of Teamwork Ministries worldwide have embraced this concept.
Dr. Chacha's vision is to multiply this concept and approach across the nations of Africa, in other locations where assistance is sorely needed. We are now seeking sponsors to aid us in our mission to better help orphan children in these areas."
Mission Trip in 2009
From July 25th to August 5th, 2009, we pray that we will be able to join members from St. Luke's church across the street and from around the country in visiting the ministry of City of Hope. This will primarily be an opportunity to build relationships, but there will also be many opportunities to serve, including teaching at the school.
This trip is open to adults and youth, although youth should be accompanied by a parent. Space is limited, so please indicate your interest as soon as possible. The cost is about $3000 for adults and $2800 for youth. Information will be available in Horton Hall or in the main office. Please contact Chris Samsen for more information.
