J
anuary was a busy month filled with
many visitors attending tours of
NPNS. Classes started back with great
enthusiasm as the children and staff
were so excited to be back together
again. The children started a new
program with our Naturalists, Ms. Emily.
They are learning about animal habitats in
Winter and how to recognize animal tracks.
We had our annual pajama day and classrooms were
having fun cooking pancakes and other goodies. Room
13 4’s visited the Bruce Museum to view their own art
that was a part of the “Your Face Squared” project.
Our Pre-K students visited the Darien Post Office to
help them turn a part of their classroom into a Post
Office of their own. The 4 years olds attended the “
Ugly
Duckling
” and the “
Tortoise and the Hare
” at the Purchase
Theater. Children celebrated a slight snowfall by sledding
on the hill behind Pastor Doll’s house. Several classes
had a special music program this month with Robert
Markowitz. He brought a perfect combination of music,
movement and imagination to our students. We are
looking forward celebrating Valentine’s Day and hopefully
getting more snow!
Thank you for all the lovely Christmas and New Years
cards and well wishes.
