We are excited to announce and welcome two interns
coming this summer: Amanda Hutter and Nicholas Lee!
Amanda Hutter is a freshman at Tufts University and has
been a lifelong member of NPC. She has participated and
helped at many youth events over the years. Nicholas Lee
is a junior at Gordon College studying
Christian Ministry. He is from Mountain
View, California, and is very excited
to be part of our team. Both were
chosen from a pool of applicants as
students who will benefit from
our ministry, and who we can
benefit from and cultivate during
their time here. Their first day is
May 20th. Please join us in welcom-
ing them to our family!

Summer Interns
Student Ministries
For the sixth consecutive year
the students and adults of
NPC have given their spring
vacation to serve the larger body
of Christ! Thousands of Staten
Island residents were displaced
because of Hurricane Sandy,
and over six months later, many
families are still displaced. During our
time in Staten Island we were able to help four families
get closer to moving into their homes. One crew painted
a basement, another cleaned the inside of a home where
construction is winding down.
We also put the finishing touches
on a home’s paint, molding, and
tile making it ready to move
in. Finally, a group cleaned the
upstairs of a home along with
preparing the basement for
sheetrock. We also worked at
two different churches helping
to prepare their facilities to
host mission teams coming this
summer.
Every mission experience is unique because of the
participants and location. The 30 students and 8 adults
were able to be consistent in sharing the love of Christ
with people who are in a difficult place. Many of the
people we served we did not meet, nor were they
followers of Christ. I hope you will join with us in praying
for those we served and Third Day Missions, whom we
partnered with, that they
will come to know the
incredible love of Jesus
Christ and our service will
be a part of that. This
April Mission trip was again
special for everyone who
participated. It gave a new
sense of our neighbors, a
renewed sense of gratitude,
and an ongoing awareness
of where our neighbors in
need might be. I hope you will join us next time or for
another NPC mission trip.
