W
e are blessed that Tom
Becker will be visiting us
on Sunday, May 5th. Tom grew
up in our church and is the son
of Nancy Becker, who preached
at NPC on April 7th as part of our
NPC Birthday celebrations. NPC has
supported Tom and his wife Dora in their
ministry to the Roma people of Czech Republic for some
years.
On Mother’s Day we will be thinking not just of our
own Mothers but also of the Mothers all over the world
who struggle to provide food for their children. We
will be distributing M&M tubes as part of our annual
fundraising effort to pay for the special Feed My Starving
Children meals that we pack in our Fall Joint Churches
FMSC MobilePack. Filling one tube with quarters ($14)
will pay for 63 life-saving rice/soy/vitamin meals that our
community will pack on the weekend of October 19-20,
2013. Please consider taking a tube, enjoying the candy
and collecting quarters to help with this ministry. Last year
the 229,000 meals we packed were sent to feed children in
Ghana and El Salvador. Please return tubes to the church
office or the offering plate. We welcome tubes filled with
quarters, bills or checks! Please make checks payable to
FMSC event code 1310-131.
NPC is also celebrating
Mothers in the annual
Carver Center Mother’s
and Other’s dinner
that is organized and
provided by a team
of our members, for
the families of Carver
students. This joyful
event takes place on May 3rd, please keep this ministry in
your prayers.
We look forward to welcoming the Pivot Ministries choir
to our Open Doors service for the first time at 5 p.m. on
May 19th.
Please do contact me if you have any questions about
NPC Mission or ideas about how NPC can love and serve
Christ through this ministry.

the another’s new members several
times through the day. Having the
time to share and hear one another’s
faith journeys was the highlight of our
time and offered us a chance to get
to know everyone in our group in an
accepting and authentic way.
There was such a sense of genuine
love and care woven throughout the
whole day. We were thoroughly
impressed and humbled by the atten-
tion to detail that went into each and
every part. It was very clear that many
volunteers help out with the class and
it was wonderful to meet and get to
know them a little better.
We’ve been so incredibly blessed by
the choice to become members. May-
be something we’ve said has spoken
to your heart. If you are interested in
lending a hand for the new members
class or want to learn more about
possibly becoming a member please
reach out to Julie Colbath.
If you ever get a nudge to invite
someone to church, I encourage you
to go out on a limb and boldly act on
it. You never know how God might
use that opportunity and how much it
could bless the person that God put
on your heart. I am so thankful for that
first invitation from my dear friend.
Thank you!
