Greetings from the Youth Task Force! (Elliott
Etheredge, Bobby Winsor, Sandy Henry, Kalie Riordan,
Cindy Smith, Seana Turner, Sally Vosburgh, Burt Palmer
and Pastor Brandi Drake).
The task force has been organized to gather
information from the NPC youth, the congregation
at large, the community and other successful youth
programs and their leaders for the purpose of making a
recommendation to the Session. The recommendation
to the Session will be more about the holistic approach
to youth ministries at NPC. We are not the search
committee for a new youth pastor.
Our team is in the process of gathering information.
We have met with each of the youth groups, hosted
two Town Halls and sent a survey to the NPC
congregation. We have also met with youth leaders
ranging from Young Life leaders to youth pastors at
other thriving ministries in Fairfield County to former
Pastor Mark Orr, who now leads REACH Youth New
England.
We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but our
intention is to provide a recommendation in early 2014
to Session, at which time a search committee will be
called to finalize the job description and commence the
search for the person God intends to lead NPC’s Youth
Ministries.
We ask for your prayers as we discern God’s will for
this exciting and important work.
