Grateful!

I

know it’s not the Thanksgiving

season but I was just thinking

about how grateful I am for a

number of things pertaining to

the Music & Fine Arts department

and decided to share them with

you.

Sanctuary Acoustics-

We really have a great sounding

Sanctuary for un-amplified music. The unadulterated

sound of the Chancel Choir, the organ, and the piano

blend very well and carry to the back of the balcony.

Appreciative Congregation-

So many of you have

said wonderful things about our efforts and it really is

encouraging.

Generous Congregation-

As a result of your generosity

in the

Foundations

Campaign, we will be installing a

new sound system which enable us to enhance the

musical portions of our services a great deal. At present,

it’s quite difficult to balance various instruments with

each other and with singers. Some instruments are

just louder than others! That’s one of the reasons

that symphony orchestras have so many more violins

than any other instruments. We have a lot of very

talented instrumentalists in our congregation and the

new system will allow me to use combinations of

instruments and singers that otherwise wouldn’t balance

well.

The Chancel Choir will finally be able to hear the

sermon from their seats in the loft. I don’t have to

explain the importance of this!

Many, many more benefits will be realized from our

new sound system. Thank you!

Prayer Focus

Please keep all our mission partners in your prayers and especially pray for the

following needs that they have shared with us.

Please pray for:

• Peace in Lahore and protection for Forman Christian College staff and students.

• Peace in Kenya following the recent elections.

• Students at Elon University as they make decisions about participating in

Campus Outreach Summer evangelism projects.

• The loan of a car during the summer for Hanna Massad and family.

• Blessing on the World Vision Hygiene Kit event.

• All our mission partners and the ministries we support will bring light to the world, will be strengthened,

protected and upheld by the power of the Holy Spirit and that their work will bear much fruit.
