Adult Spiritual Formation
The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force
is to mobilize prayer in America and to issue a call to
personal repentance and righteous living.
For this year’s May 2nd observances, Pastor Greg Laurie,
the 2013 Honorary Chairman, has written a special
prayer to be simultaneously read throughout the nation
at noon (EDT). Millions of people gathered, last year,
to pray at thousands of events facilitated volunteer
coordinators.
One of the ways that we can serve our nation is to pray
for it. Thank you in advance for making this spiritual
discipline a personal priority and for standing with us as
we pray for our nation.
The chairman of the National Day of Prayer writes,
“The Lord has graciously anointed our efforts,
empowering them to touch and change many hearts and
lives. I look forward to seeing His hand move across
our land in exciting ways this May in response to our
petitions! May the Lord’s peace fill your heart as you
rest in Him throughout the days ahead.”
This year we are encouraging all members of NPC to
pause 15 minutes in their day to pray for the children of
our community. We pray that our children would have:
• Time to Wonder
• Quality time with their family
• Safety on the sports fields
• Opportunities to grow spiritually
• Developing good, healthy friendships
• Joy in developing their God-given gifts
In addition, there will once again be prayer at the
flagpole at Town Hall on May 2nd at 12 noon.
Peace and blessings,
Pastor Greg Doll
Pastor of Adult Spiritual Formation and Outreach
This year’s theme is
Pray for America,
emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and
individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all
governments, authorities, and men. To further highlight this theme, they’ve chosen Matthew 12:21
as their Scripture for this year: “In His name the nations will put their hope.”
